SARABANDA ATLÂNTICA — Borealis Ensemble
Sarabanda Atlântica was born from the shared listening of two cultures separated by an ocean, yet united by a common language and a rich cultural heritage. Through the performance of works by composers from Portugal and Brazil—some receiving their world premieres—the Borealis Ensemble charts a kaleidoscopic sonic map of these profound affinities.
Founded by flautist António Carrilho and pianist Helena Marinho, the Borealis Ensemble is dedicated to promoting music for both historical and modern instruments, with a particular focus on contemporary creation and the commissioning of new works.
